October 2002:

PROJECT REPORT No.1
(continued)

Architects: Did you know the original architects for the school Briggs, Wolstenholme and Thornley were also responsible for the Mersey Docks and Harbour Building at Pier Head.

Derek Hicks and Thew
, as architects for the project will produce a report in this format upon a monthly basis which we hope will be a useful record for the project.

Copper is to be used as one of the cladding materials. The copper shall be prepatinated (green) via a chemical process to provide its natural patina colour. Natural copper will turn green in around 15 years if left.

As part of this report we will be focussing on one of the professional members of the team during each report as a means to promote the professions which are available within the construction industry and to give an idea of the numbers of people involved in the development of this projects.
