Olive Mount Redevelopment:

THE PLANNING OFFICER'S REPORT,
December 2002 (continued)

Olive Mount Residents Association has the following comments on the revised plans in addition to their comments on the original plans:

  • The revised plans are not materially different from the original submission

  • The tower blocks should not be demolished because a private developer considers that they could be improved and sold privately

  • The demolition and rebuilding will cause immense disruption to local residents

  • The chestnut tree and beech trees at the top of the site were shown in the previous plans and have now been simply designated as open space to increase the calculated total

  • The four storey Wimpey flats are over-development

  • The LHAT fiats are too high at 3 storeys plus a sloping roof
