The Trustees of the Liverpool Blue Coat School Foundation are inviting all members of the Wavertree Society, and local residents, to take a look inside the refurbished parts of the building on 9th July, any time between 2 and 4 in the afternoon.
Just turn up - using the entrance under the clock tower in Church Road - and visit the Board Room and Chapel (both newly-restored to their original Edwardian splendour) along with the adjacent parts of the building which will soon be available for hire as a venue for wedding receptions and the like.
The architectural historian Sir Nikolaus Pevsner described the Blue Coat building as 'spectacular', and it is Grade II* Listed. Great care has been taken to preserve its original character, and this is an opportunity to see the results.
Complimentary refreshments will be provided, courtesy of the Foundation, by way of thanks to the local residents who have patiently put up with months of disturbance while the building work has been in progress.
