The following Report was issued on behalf of the School by the Derek Hicks & Thew Partnership, architects:
Phase Two:
The works to complete the new extension have now reached the concluding months to ensure the building is complete for the new academic term in September 2003. The external envelope of the building is reaching completion with the final curtain walling elements due for imminent installation, along with the render to the front administration block. The external elevations of copper and cedar boarding have nearly been completed with the large school signage and crest to the sports hall elevation to be installed following fabrication. Internally the building has moved forward a great deal with the majority of walls having now been plastered and initial coats of paint applied. The science wing is the most progressed and the installation of floor finishes and fixed furniture to the laboratories has now commenced
Thoughts and discussions with the school have now moved on to begin discussing the issues of moving into the new building before September 2003 in advance of the future redevelopment phases of works within the existing school.
